Today I thought I would share with you a couple of cards I have made, all using the theme of bees and thinking of you. My view is ‘thinking of you’ cards should not be overstated cards, it‘s not the time for those mantlepiece pleaser cards I like to create, that said it doesn’t mean that less thought needs to go into them.
The first one I have created on Procreate which is a drawing app for iPad’s. I have drawn the outlines and then filled in using Zentangling. The reason I like to draw digitally is two main reason’s, firstly because it lets you create multiple projects from the same image and secondly, it allows me to print it off on a laser printer and I can then add foil to the image. For this card I have used my black foil for the main images and text, and rainbow foil for the bee (both are available in my shop). I have then used yellow & brown brusho powders to add a some colour to the sunflower.
The next couple are smaller bee images, printed and foiled using rose gold, holographic gold & light blue foil.
The last one uses a beautiful Bree Merryn image from the Bumble & Friends DVD Rom, I have printed the image on my inkjet printer and then I have put the image into my laser printer and printed off the sentiment. I have then added Light Gold foil over the sentiment.
Each card is very different, but still following the same theme. The cards are understated but still beautiful. Perfect to let someone know you are thinking of them.
