Today I want to share with You 3 cards I have created using original images, a laser printer and some foil (oh and some foam pads!).
I am really liking doing black line drawings recently for masculine cards, where you don’t want flowers or fairies and the black foil really finishes it off, it changes it from a printed card to a more stand out card. It is easy to think foiling in black is a bit of a pointless action, however it really elevates your images. It ads a gloss effect and sheen to the images.
I was asked to make a card for a Westie lover, not the easiest dog to create in black lines, given that it is a white dog! Nevertheless I am pleased with how it came out. I created three different cards to choose between, using the image in large format, as well as tiling the image to create the background. I have tried to show in the pictures how you get a lovely gloss to the image when you use black foil. I have also used my silver holographic foils to create a different point of interest to the cards.
