Happy Mother’s Day…

Wishing all you Mum’s out there a very Happy Mother‘s day.

What better way to share some crafty inspiration with you than with the two Mother‘s Day cards I have made, and my Mum’s Mother’s Day gift.

The first is the card I made for my Mother in Law. This card is cut from 3 layers using my Cricut, and then I have used some Hunkydory Adorable Scorable as the mat and layer. I have added some stickles to the little cut outs to add some added sparkle.

The next one is the one I made for my mum. For this card I drew and foiled the main front image, I have used my bright pink foil for the rose and the silver holographic for the text. I used black cardstock to really frame the front panel and make that foil appear even more shiny and then added another layer created using my solid toner sheets, foiled with the bright pink foil

The two flowers have been made using flower forming foam, I have added colour using distress oxide ink pads to create a more ombré appearance, then heated and formed each of the petals.

I have saved (in my humble opinion) the best to last. Here is my Mum’s gift, a bright cheerful vase of flowers, that will last all year.

Lets start with the vase, this started out as a charity shop find of a transparent glass vase, I have then added two coats of white gesso, making sure that each coat dries thoroughly in between. I have used Arteza acrylic paints for the pink and yellow spots and then finished off with a coat of Mod Podge to seal it all in.

The flowers use papers from a the In Bloom Papermania 12x12 pad, they are all double sided which is perfect for creating flowers like this. There are four types of flowers in there, Roses, Daisies, Lilies and Kusudama flowers.

Here is the before showing all the pieces of paper cut ready for folding and cutting.

The Lilies and Kusudama flowers are made by folding the paper and the Roses & Daisies are created with cutting dies. I use Crafters Companion 3D layering daisy die I have added a link so you can see what it looks like but it seems to be sold out everywhere, but there are some still available second hand on eBay. The rose uses a Fleurs flower petal die. I generally try to put around 15 petals per rose and between 3&5 layers per daisy.

So to finish off today’s post, I just want to say Happy Mother’s Day to my Mum, thank you for everything :-)

xoxo
