You may remember I said a few days ago that I was determined to not just unpack my crafty purchases, put them away and never to be seen again, so today was the turn of the Silhouette, Stencil & Stamp box from Crafters Companion that I managed to get at a bargain price in their sale. The idea is that there is everything you need in the box apart from glue and colouring mediums.
Here is what I got in this one…
I wanted to make something a bit different from the black silhouettes, but still using the stamps and stencils included.
So I created this little card.
To make it I used Brusho’s to create the night sky and then Distress Oxides to create the forest. I added highlights using acrylic paint pens and also to add some definition.
The fairy is my absolute favourite, it was hard to photograph to do it justice. I used a watermark stamp pad to stamp he silhouette. I then used Cosmic Shimmer thick embossing powder over the top. Once I had laid down one layer I fussy cut the fairy out and added a second layer of embossing powder using the watermark ink pad again to create a smooth finish. In person this now looks like she is made from metal.
I used heavyweight acetate concertina folded to create the illusion that the fairy is in the foreground.
I am pleased with how it has come out and like that it is different to the standard black silhouette you would think to create.
Happy Saturday, the weather is lovely here in Somerset, I hope the sun is out wherever you may be reading this :-)
