Well it is the middle of the week, doesn't time fly?! I can't quite believe it is now nearly the middle of July! It's a great time to reflect on the year so far, and what you have achieved. Have you tried something new this year, a new skill or even a new food? If you haven't maybe now is as good a time as any to create a goal for yourself, what is something you have looked at and thought 'I wonder how they make that' or wow 'I wish I could do that' my message to you is give it a go.
I have a love of greyboard, you can create pretty much anything from it and glue multiple layers together and it is super strong, I also love everything in tiny size! So I thought I would give the world of miniatures a go. One of my first creations was made for my mum, she is a very clever with all things 'soft craft' so your wools and fabrics, I am on the other hand all about the paper! So I thought I would make a little haberdashery shop for her. Entirely new and out my comfort zone but I LOVED doing it. I love the challenge of thinking, what do I have that I can use to make a mini version of that.
So here is the final project,
The units are made from thin balsa wood, and the main shape is made from greyboard. The balls of wool are made from the wool used for felting, the fabric has a Card core and then I have used fabrics from mini fabric offcuts I have accumulated.
I am looking forward to making more miniatures in the future.
