Or so they say! Who has made new year resolutions? Who thinks they will keep it past January?!
So I want to take a moment and look at crafting and how it can be more than just a hobby it can be a safe space a chance to switch off and to be in the moment. As I create something from scratch as it builds I can experience a sense of accomplishment and pride, there is nothing that can’t be fixed, everything can be put right. It also provides an outlet to express myself. I can translate what I am feeling into a finished piece. Admittedly often my creations are pieces for me, and for my eyes only, not for sharing, this is where an Art Journal can really come into its own. This is something in 2024 I want to try and do more of, remembering it is ok to do crafting just for me, it doesn’t have to be for someone else, there doesn’t have to be a purpose behind it.
So with that in mind I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, and I look forward to sharing my crafty journey with you all.
